Happy New Year

It has been an incredible year, I have so many photos from this week that I have been waiting to get up.

[[posterous-content:pid___0]]Parker loves the snow and is also up for adoption

[[posterous-content:pid___1]]Bowie and Punkin get to know each other

[[posterous-content:pid___2]]I did a great off leash session on the beach today with 3 of my clients, a total of 7 dogs all on remote collars and all doing 100% recall, there was 2 dogs that were under 6 months old that also used this time to do some great dog/dog socialization

[[posterous-content:pid___3]]My pack loves going intot the ocean no matter what the time of year is. The small GSD you see in front of the young boy is only 6 months old, he comes to his young owner 100% of the time and never jumps on him.

[[posterous-content:pid___4]]Maggie with her 2 dogs having a great time, they have come so long in the few months that I have known her

[[posterous-content:pid___5]]The red seaweed on the beach covered the size of a football field and was a few inches deep, it was like walking on pillows, pillows smelling like fish that is

[[posterous-content:pid___6]]Bianca making snow angels in the snow

[[posterous-content:pid___7]]Bianca and Lily had a great time in the snow together. One of the nice benefits of my board and train program is the amount of play time that the dogs get with each other

[[posterous-content:pid___8]]all of the dogs had a great time today at the beach

Off leash snow fun

After a worked at a clients house, I took advantage of the surrounding area and had some off leash fun with Max, Uma and Roca.

Max breaking trail up a hill, it is incredible the true happiness that comes out of dogs when they run off leash.

Max, Uma and Roca work really well as a pack, Max is my herder and will make sure that all dogs stay close by, Roca loves to explore, he comes back 100% of the time on command. Max feels that he should not run far from the pack so he will often chase after him and drive him back to us.

Roca with his spirit unleashed, lives for the winter months..sleeps outside and lays in the snow all day when not out working with me

This is a great picture of Max just waiting until Roca gets a certain amount of distance before he takes off for him to drive him back to me.

Romy and Clover with their American Girl Dolls, the dog they have is Tatlo and has a travois that carries all of the bear rugs and teepee supplies, nothing like a good working dog for the American Girls

New England Winter Storm

Today we are scheduled to get a big storm and it looks like we are having a great start. I was on the road by 7am today and the roads kept getting worse and worse, by 4pm it was time ot come off the road, the main roads were okay, but the side roads were not that great.

This is Lexi who spent 2 weeks at my board and train and today was my at home follow up visit, she lives on a few acres with woods and trails behind her house, but was never able to enjoy them, with off leash recall work though, Lexi can run and enjoy the woods and her spirit has been unleashed. She comes back to her owner 100% of the time when she is called, even with high level distractions.

One of my clients wanted to play with my dogs after I did some training with there new puppy, so I let Roca, Max and Uma out of the van and they ran around with the kids. This is Roca, when Roca was 10 months old he severely attacked his owner, I was hired to take him to the vet to be killed, instead I offered to take him, he bit me daily for about a month, (thats because I never walk away from a growling dog, I walk toward them) after 18 months of living with my pack and me, he has become one of my best greeters, he always sits automatically for everyone to get his pets, and is great around all dogs.

Max, Uma amd Roca ran around with one of my clients dogs. It is so great that they can help unleash the spirit in so many dogs

there 3 kids all felt very comfortable around Roca which is so important

this may be the ultimate optimist, this young lady client of mine is 93 and she just got a new puppy who is 1 years old this week

More dogs on treadmills for the first time this week. I train so many dogs on treadmills every week, and the dogs love it, they love the mental and physical exercise

Ronan in a downstay while the girls open up there christmas presents.

Romy turns 4 years old today, she has been training dogs for 2 years and is growing up so fast, this is daughter number 6 for me.

Crazy busy week

I know, I have not put up a post for almost 1 week, no excuse, facebook gets updated a couple of times a day, so if you need a SK9T fix I encourage you to become a facebook fan of mine. You can just
"like" me from my front page of my website. Christmas day I am not on the radio since the station is closed...so much for the theory that the Jews run the entertainment industry.

Bowie rocking out on the treadmill, almost all of the dogs can go on the treadmill without a human standing next to them..on that note..check out this little video

Floyd and Sash negotiating a toy swap, that should be interesting..if it works maybe I can use that training for our world leaders and we can get some peace.

Bowie and Buddha in Place

Lucy in the Copa Cabana Place command

Ronan is going home this weekend and is a different dog then one that came to us a few weeks ago

I love the treadmill! Just ask a SK9T Dog.

We have been training so many dogs on the treadmill this week, it is mandatory training with every dog that comes onto property. All dogs in the board and train program learn and it also gives all of the dogs to also work on other commands while dogs are on the treadmill.

Lexi and Ronan in the Place command while another dog takes his turn on the treadmill

Lexi is very content in the PLACE command, we strive in training dogs to just EXIST calmly, Lexi is not bored, she is not stressed, she is very calm and content.

My trainers at my board and train are so resourceful and skilled that they can work 4 dogs at once...each dog learning what is expected of them.

Ocean work below zero

We have been doing some great off leash work at the beach in temperatures well below zero with the wind factor.

at a great rock outcropping at the beach the dogs go out to watch the waves crash

Roca and Ronan enjoy the very cold water, this is Ronan's first time in the water, at first I don't think he knew what the water was and just thought he was following Roca

Sasha hanging out in the play yard. Sasha is up for adoption, well trained and a great family dog

Rita and Lucy both in place in our inside training area

while Clover and Romy work on schoolwork (we homeschool) Ronan just hangs out in a solid down/stay

Cold, not really if you are a polar bear.

We live in New England, it is so important that we exercise our dogs in all weather and temperatures. Our dogs need exercise daily both mentally and physically, I suggest that all of look into getting a treadmill. I train dogs on them every day.

this dog started on the treadmill last week and within 1 week this dog is walking on the treadmill without a leash. It is a great exercise and training for your dog to learn this important skill.

Lucy is in PLACE in my office while Uma also hangs out. I always have dogs in my office doiing commands while I am getting work done

Sandy and Lucy in Place im the inside training area. dogs are constantly worked inside and outside around as many distraction as possible.

Ronan in a down/stay while Linda helps Clover and Romy with schoolwork. Linda homeschools the kdis and they have such a great environment to learn so much about life

Buddha is one of the staffs dogs and has come so far just being around the kennel

Lucy........I'm Home!!!!!

Lucy came to us with some behavioral issues this week and has been doing great all week. She does great with alll of the big dogs as well. Her best friend is actually Lexi on of the biggest dogs on the property.

Yesterday, at 7am before the radio show I met one of my clients at Lincoln Woods for some off leash work with her puppy

What a wonderful time that we had with her 14 week old dog, this was the first time working on off leash recall and also the first time utilizing an e-collar..we achieved 100% recall every single time

Ashley calls her dog over to her from 20 feet away at the beach, and her puppy turned on a dime and came happily running to her.

This is the distractions that her dog had to train with 3 other dogs running around having a great time with her and she had to break away from the fun and come running to her owner..and she did it 100% of the time dozens of times..the power of off leash e-collar training with my training system...

How To train a dog on a treadmill

we train every dog that comes onto our property on a treadmill, some dogs are easy to get started others can be a challenge. This is a video of a dog who is highly nervous and we show you how to get this dog up on the treadmill and walking in a very efficient way.

today at the beach it was cold, the bay was actually partially frozen and I did some great off leash work with a client and her 2 black labs

Uma enjoys the ocean even in the winter

This was the labs first time with remote collar training and they did great, had a wonderful time and had their spirit unleashed
